Das Racist’s 2009 novelty hit “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell” was the kind of tune that might easily get lodged in a fella’s head, but wouldn’t send that fella sprinting to check out Das Racist’s mixtape.
The kind of thing that would send that fella sprinting? Naming the first track “Who’s That? Brooown!” (after the best line in A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario”). And godddamn if when the music kicks in on that track, said fella isn’t immediately sold.

Shut Up, Dude has a lot to recommend it — it’s fun and funny without being strictly comedic, and the skills level is high, causing plenty of rewinds.
It’s a hip-hop album, so by law it has to be about a half-hour too long, but it’s fully worth the checkout and carbump.
