Dudes, I am always looking for new music. New to me. I don’t mind if it’s not brand-new, in fact I prefer it older. There’s plenty of attention given to the new-new, not nearly enough to the new-to-me-and-you.
That’s why I’m so happy to come across things like this: Wreckless Eric has an excellent internet radio show! Half-hour episodes, mostly older stuff, some newer stuff. All kinds of music — Buffy Sainte-Marie, Squarepusher, Waylon Jennings, Donna Summer, Engelbert Humperdinck … kind of like a reverse Hello Vegetables, only all in a row. Oh, and done by somebody who wrote one of the greatest songs of all time. Other than that, the same. Except he probably has a back yard.
Find the episodes here and the playlists here.
And what a great excuse to post a true classic:
Wreckless Eric – Whole Wide World from Wreckless Eric
Wreckless currently records and performs with Amy Rigby — they released an album (Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby) in 2008 and a 7-inch (“Teflon Wok” / “Bobblehead Doll” – order / download) in 2009. Here’s a taste:

I’m not sure if this is what you have in mind but if you are looking for older music to re-record and re-release you might try this web site. If this is what you are looking for, check out the Ohio bands,”The Vandaliers” and “Mail Order”.
Have fun!
