Noise Pop 2010 Preview:
John Vanderslice / Nurses / Honeycomb / Conspiracy Of Venus
(2/26, Swedish American Hall)

by Kevin Vegetables on February 17, 2010

The most bananas night at Noise Pop this year seems to be Friday the 26th. You’ve got Four Tet at the Independent, Atlas Sound at the Great American Music Hall, Spencey Dude & The Doodles at the free Happy Hour … but the show I’d pick would be the following, at the Swedish American Hall ($15, tickets here):

John VandersliceJohn Vanderslice

San Francisco songwriter, sound explorer, studio owner, and all-around sweetheart. Music lovers and musicians are all fortunate to have him in town. He’ll be doing a solo performance, which should be ridiculously touching.

John Vanderslice – Too Much Time from Romanian Names

… and here’s JV performing the title track from Romanian Names at a super-badass house show hosted by Adrian from ipickmynose last year:

That show was pretty badass, wasn’t it? I’m sad I’ll be missing this show.
