DJ Quik I Love You Pt 2:
Visit Part 1 of this love letter if you like, but the upshot was that DJ Quik has proven to be more consistently creative and interesting than all of his peers. 
Usually a rapper’s later albums just make me want to listen to his earlier albums. But I’m always giving recent Quik a spin.
Quik loves music and takes chances. That’s all I could ask of anybody.
So what’s he been up to lately?
This article in The Fader can fill you in on his five-month jail term and the promise of the collaboration with AMG (as The Fixxers) that Interscope fudged on releasing in 2007. That album, The Midnight Life, was eventually semi-released through MySpace or something, but if you want to hear it now, you can catch a couple tracks at The Fader, or check those shady Internet back-channels for the album.
Today’s Vedge is from Quik’s latest jernt — a collaboration with Kurupt that came out last week. It might not be the best song on the lbum lyrically, but there’s no denying how fly you feel with this music woofin out the speakers in ya trunk.
