Kicking off my return with a two-day salute to DJ Turquoise Wisdom, who supported Animal Collective on their West Coast shows, including one for the books in a misty forest fairyland that appeared out of nowhere last Wednesday.
I missed DJTW’s early set, but the set he played between Grouper and Animal Collective was front-to-back sweet and filled with gentle freaky beautifulness. I hadn’t heard any of the songs he played before, but thankfully those newfangled computer machines are easier to read than spinning records or hidden CDs.

Naturally, as soon as I learned the title of the Greg Weeks song (thanks, Mrs. H!), I got this song stuck in my head. It’s Dogg vs Weeks in a cage-match smackdown inside my skull, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
