I’ve tagged a number of songs “Greatest Song Of All Time” because they really made me feel that I needed no other songs.
But really “greatest”? Like, as in I’m actually ranking things or making an ordered list? Mmmm, I try to stay away from that sort of thing.

But “Famous Blue Raincoat”?
Come on, man. GREATEST EVER!
The complexity of emotion … the conflict … the … the … ohhh I’m swooning …
Dear hearts, there are three months left in Leonard Cohen’s tour and I can tell you from a deeply personal experience that yes I know it’s really pricey and maybe it’s pretty far away but no you won’t regret it. A strong and true performance, a setlist for the ages, and one of the clearest, finest-sounding ensembles I’ve heard. (Those singers! That guitar! That bass clarinet!)
And there are tickets still available for tomorrow (4/15) at Oakland’s Paramount Theatre!
“Famous Blue Raincoat” was one of many highlights at the Paramount last night. I don’t have a good live version of this, so we’ll have to settle for the flawless studio version.

Bonus Genius
Well sure, I love “Suzanne,” but I wasn’t necessarily expecting to be totally blown away by it live. Oops!
Leonard Cohen – “Suzanne” from the Live In London DVD (there’s also a double-CD of this, and what I’ve heard sounds fantastic)
