Kiki & Herb

How can one introduce an act that’s been entertaining audiences for more than fifty years other than to say:

Miss Kiki DuRane and her only living friend, Herb!

Is is wrong to love this honestly? I feel the same way about Bud E Luv. There’s a real love of the music behind the humor.

Loving it honestly is the only thing to do.

Maybe some people in the audience snickered at the choice of doing “Another Auld Lang Syne” during their “Year Of Magical Drinking” show, and maybe the setup story Kiki told about seeing her estranged daughter Miss D in a grocery store was a riot, but it wouldn’t have brought a tear to my eye if the performance wasn’t real. You can always tell the lovers from the mockers.
