One of the great joys or pains of cover tunes is when you become much more familiar with the cover before you ever hear the original.
That’s the way it was for me and “Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love.” (How did I make it through the 80s without hearing Van Halen’s version? New Wave and clean living, baby.)
The Blasting Concept, Vol. 2 was a low-priced SST compilation meant to introduce listeners to the kind of music SST was putting out in 1985, which was a really bad idea.
However, it did have this amazing Minutemen song.
