I love me a crackpot, and when I saw Cody ChesnuTT take the stage opening for The Roots some years ago, I knew I had found another one. He had more delay on his vocals than Gibby Haynes, and he confounded pretty much everybody in the Fillmore.

His album is hit and miss, but the hits are sublime. And look at that picture! He put that picture on his MySpace page. What?

I have a beef with the mythologizing of pimping, but this song sounds soooo good. (Maybe I don’t have enough of a beef. If I posted a song about how great it was to exploit people through slavery, would that be OK as long as the song sounded good? What if the slave-owner wore platform shoes?)
