It’s a fine, fine time in the Bay Area if you like rock music. You’ve got your established bands doing interesting things (Deerhoof, Howlin Rain) and what’s even better, you’ve got your just-getting-going bands showing a scary amount of promise (The Dodos, Girls).
But as you can tell from The Dodos and Girls, there is new legislation aimed at preserving protected living and rehearsal space in San Francisco. The permissible “new band” size in San Francisco has been shrunk to two people.
We must resist these draconian measures!
Get out and support your local Maus Haus! They’ve got a whole pile of people, and an even bigger pile of instruments to feed. And their hunger is strong, brothers and sisters!
Don’t worry– you’re supporting a good cause. Maus Haus takes all of those people and instruments and gets them on their feet. And not just in a “bowl of soup and a bus pass” kind of way. There is serious training involved.
Where was I?
