This is another one of my “I saw them play, now I tell you all about how they are super awesome” posts.
Did you know that Black Moth Super Rainbow is super awesome? I’ve rarely seen a psychedelicized band offer up so many concise, distinct songs. They seemed to be missing their vocalist when I saw them, but I could still hear vocals. He was probably floating in the air above the club broadcasting them. (UPDATE: I have it from a reliable source who makes a tasty Americano that the vocalist was crouched on the stage so low nobody could really see him. Like so.)
I’ve heard their album is a concept album about a witch who makes candy in the woods. I’ve also heard that the vinyl version of Dandelion Gum comes in a scratch-n-sniff cover.
Feel-good freakout of the year. Album’s great, show’s great. Group’s great. Here’s two.
Black Moth Super Rainbow – Sun Lips
Black Moth Super Rainbow – Lost, Picking Flowers In The Woods

So, said it before, will say again: my eyes aren’t so good. An unreliable source.
But a lot of people were looking at the ceiling.
