Is it wrong to expect The Cool Kids to usher in a new and beautiful era in hip-hop?
Well, after reading this interview, I’m expecting them to do nothing less than save music.
Everybody is like, “Aright, so when’s the album coming out?” We’re probably just going to keep leaking songs till we figure this thing out. Why not? Who cares? If we have a song and you want to hear it, you can get it. So what is the point? I’m just really rebellious toward what I can and can’t do. I can do whatever I want. If it was up to me, I’d just make CDs and put them out. You can’t sell music, man. It’s not possible. You can sell tickets to a show so you can do those songs. We’re past selling music. It’s boring. Saying, “Here, buy my CD,” is like saying, “I hate you.” Just give me it. What are you going to do with my $12?
There’s loads more interesting stuff in the interview.
There has to be a law where you can be married to a white woman and two black guys at the same time… Go see them when they play. Throw kisses, dance, and buy two t-shirts.
Right now I think the only song you can really buy from them is the Black Mags single on itunes, but there’s loads more music on their MySpace.

And because you’ve been so good and because this is so sweet, here’s the video for Black Mags:

Quick hands. You might need assistance.
Ha! That’s great.
Is that a reference I’m not getting? Help! I want to laugh too!
I just think that’s a great rhyme. Hands->assistance.
Good tune, too.
Thank you. I wasn’t paying attention.
