All Your Words Are Alphabet Soup

JellyfishThis delightful little number comes from a 1991 CD Nintendo put out called White Knuckle Scorin’. This song was the only one that actually references any Nintendoness, though. The others are (I believe previously-recorded) tunes by like Britny Fox and Roy Orbison(?). It was the first time I had ever really heard Jellyfish, and even though I was not very pop-focused in 1991, I could feel the power.

So there you have it. A song written to shill for a corporation, teaching kids about the value of reading, and it kicks ass.

I found a YouTube video for this song, but the music is so cartoony that adding a cartoon to it really reduces its magic. It makes it sound like children’s music. (What? It is?)

Nothing I ever heard again from them could compare to this. Although “Joining A Fan Club” came close. You should hear Puffy Ami-Yumi’s version of that one.

Ooh I’d like to.

It’s too bad Jellyfish never made it bigger. I blame the hats.
