Immer Immer Mehr

It might be difficult for some of you to believe, but Flavor Flav once was something other than a reality (and soon-to-be-sitcom?) star.

That’s right. He used to be a guy who got his address in the paper because he smacked that girl. But somewhere in between, he found time to rap. Rhymes GaloreHere’s an international treat I was fortunate enough to catch on German MTV some years ago.

Maybe it’s just because I already have an affinity for the language, but I think German lends itself to rap pretty well. Thanks to the miracle of YouTube, you can find other Tomekk videos (with GZA, Kurupt, and more) if you wish. (Although I like German rap, it still seems weird to combine it with bikini girls washing a car and sucking on lollipops, though.)

But please, if you have some examples of fantastische Deutsche Hip-Hop, please let us know!

It’s hard to find good German music over here.
