Word’s On The Street, And It’s On The News
You mighta heard of Black Kids — there’s a bit of talk going round these days, some of it focusing on how their demo EP is available as a free download, some of it on the level of hype as it relates to blogs.
I don’t know how unusual it is for an unsigned band to have their demo freely available, but it’s incredibly unusual for any band to have made such amazingly fun and danceable pop songs. Especially with titles that hit close to home, like “I’ve Underestimated My Charm (Again).” They deserve any positive attention they get.
Get all their songs, rock them all weekend, and I’ll see you on Monday. Smooches!

Black Kids do indeed rock, think I will have to do a feature on them on my own blog.
Though, life being life I have already read one blog criticising them for not being anything special. Each to their own, I think this is ace…

It seems like there’s always a posse waiting to attack anybody that gets a good Pitchfork review. There’s no shortage of great music, so why waste time writing about music you don’t like?
I’m hoping for a Black Kids tour soon — should be a superfun dancefest.

My life became much more serene once I stopped reading Idolator (poor gossip-to-music ratio) and blog comments (HV excepted, naturally).
I usually delete shit-talking comments on Hello Vegetables because this is a place for enjoying music, and there are plenty of other places to go if people want to vent.
