I’d Give My All To Make It Live

The Louvin BrothersIn fond remembrance of yet another amazing Hardly Strictly Bluegrass weekend, here’s one that sort of sums it up. Charlie Louvin was wonderful, and he mentioned how Gram Parsons taught Emmylou Harris how to sing harmony by playing her Louvin Brothers records. (It’s difficult to imagine her needing to learn anything about harmony…)

Later that day, during her own set, Emmylou introduced this song by remarking on how Gram turned her on to country music through The Louvin Brothers. She had a hit with this one, and did a fine job herself of introducing people to the joys of country music and sweet harmony.
